Syllabus

I have a flexible coaching style and am able to cater for players of all skill levels. I am happy to conduct lessons in any way that helps the student, and am always looking for new ways to implement my coaching. I usually conduct lessons over Skype or MSN, but will happily use any other chat method the student suggests. Some of the ways I can help you include:

Live Sweat Session:  The student will play their normal session, and I will give live advice over Skype. During these sessions I give advice on tough spots, and also give feedback and tips on new elements the student can add into their game in order to increase their winrate. I keep thorough records of concepts we have covered, and will always have new topics to discuss during times when play may be uneventful. I take notes of important leaks, areas of possible improvement, and any tough hands which we came across. I usually like to stop playing during the last quarter of the session to discuss these topics and ensure they have been covered thoroughly.

Hand History Discussion: During the course of their regular play the student can save hands they would like to discuss, and we can spend a lesson going through a large number of these over Skype. I feel that this is a very important part of student learning, and can be extremely helpful in discussing spots the student is having trouble with which have not come up during a live sweat session. I ensure the discussion is highly detailed, and will often aid the student in using Poker Tracker information to help make decisions in these hands.

Poker Tracker Analysis and Report: I will spend a number of hours going through the student’s Poker Tracker database and finding leaks in their game. I will write a brief summary of my findings, and will often arrange a time with the student to discuss these thoroughly. Future sweat sessions will reflect upon these findings and ensure that any possible leaks or improvements are taken on board.

Video Review: The student will play and record one or more of their poker sessions, including audio recordings of their thought process. I will go through this video and produce feedback as required, and suggest methods for improvement. I usually arrange a time with the student and discuss these points in detail over Skype. I believe that this is an excellent method of coaching, as it allows me to really understand the student’s thought process during hands, and ensures that the student is always making decisions for the correct reasons.
