Skype Sweat The standard option is to start with Skype Sweat session(s), especially for PLO coaching. Here I will watch you play in your normal game using a program such as Teamviewer so I can see your screen. I will ask for your thoughts and provide my thoughts and advice and answer your questions as we go. Usually I will observe a significant amount of your natural gameplay first to get a good idea of where you are. Using that as a base I will tailor future sessions to target specific areas that require improvement.
Video Review This method involves the student recording a poker session with commentary on the table dynamics and their thought processes during each important hand. I will then analyse this video and discuss the results with the student over Skype or IM. A video review is a particularly useful coaching method for MTT’s because it allows the student to record in their own time a specific phase of a MTT that they wish to work on. Hand History Review Here, you would send some hand histories for me to review. This allows us to analyse some tough spots or trouble hands in great detail. Here we would pay special attention to the playing styles of opponents and likely hand ranges, as well as the theory behind making correct decisions. This method is appropriate for both PLO cash and MTT tourneys, but probably better suited to more advanced players.
